From the Organizers of the Ovarian Cancer Walk of Hope:

Thank you for participating in the Ovarian Cancer Canada Walk of Hope.

 

The event was a tremendous success on all fronts. Across the country, over 12,000 people tied up their teal shoelaces in support of this important cause.

 

While donations are still being processed, a preliminary count shows we have raised over $2 million. And this total continues to climb, as additional gifts are received online and in the mail. 

 

Team Captain for CWL for Life, Carolyn W. Lundy, wants to thank everyone who joined her team to raise money and awareness for Ovarian Cancer research.  A group of about 22 family and friends came together on September 7, 2014 at Brantford's Waterworks Park along with other teams.  The two hours together began with a Zumba workout before all walked the 5 km trail.  Carolyn says 'I am inspired and encouraged by each message of hope and every donaton. You are the VERY best,  SPECIAL people in my world!  You give me courage to continue the battleafter 5 chemotherapies in 4.5years.  We are strong together!'  

 

Out of all the registered teams in Brantford, CWL for Life came in first place in team donations and Carolyn in second place for individual donations raised.
