As of September 2014, our Catholic Women’s League Council is known as the “Cathedral Basilica of Christ the King”.

 

We were also informed that our Charter dates back to 1966 – rather than the 1952 Charter that has hung in the old Rectory Basement Meeting Room all these years.

 

 

The history behind this confusion is that in 1952 charter #1482 was issued but that council was amalgamated with another group. According to CWL National’s records, the amalgamation was with Resurrection Mission.

 

 

In 1966 a new charter, #2638, was issued and it is this charter that is currently active.
